This is a project started by Gro in 1997. The issue was that i knew many projects in Asia involving creative work. Some of them had a leak of teaching when it came to techniques. Some used great materiales, but the designs they came up with was not saleable in the western world. The quality was not good enough either. How to involve to be a blessing in to these kind of projects?
We visited projects, and also helped with teaching and design. Some products were sold in Norway together with the history of where it was made.
Two projects where linked up with Gros hobby books. The publlisher wanted to offer a material kit to be sold together with the book, and my suggestion was to make it through one of the projects I knew. Why not make a difference?
The idea was to make a material kit for my book about angels. Various angels made out of different types hand made paper, wire and beads. Two projects where involved making it. Both for former prostitute girls. Tamar in Olongapo and Samaritana in Manilla. I went teaching, and a good friend Gitte followed up. Thanks to this project the business they had kept going for one more year.
For the book called "Paprepatchwork" the idea was to decorate pastepaper in various patterns and colours. The publisher agreed, and I went for Albania and visited my friend Jorid that had been living there for 15 years. We had seminars, learning them to make handmade paper, and how to decorate regular paper. Jorid did the follow up, and thouse involved got paid for it! "Since i was a child, I have always been dreaming of making paper!" one of them told!
